I. The libraries of National Central University, National Chengchi University, National Tsing Hua University, and National Yang-Ming Chiao Tung University have established the 'Operation Directions for Interlibrary Loan in the University System of Taiwan (UST)' (hereinafter referred to as "the directions") to facilitate the use of each other's collections by students and faculty of the four schools and to achieve the goal of resource sharing.
II. Faculty, staff, and students who are under the management of the personnel office and related units of the four schools, and who have completed the signing and certification of UST with a valid email address, can enjoy cross-school reading or free borrowing and returning services by presenting their own service ID, student ID, or library card.
III. Each person at each school can borrow up to 10 items and reserve up to 10 items. The borrowing period for each item is 30 days, with a maximum borrowing period of 60 days. Within the maximum borrowing period, there is no limit to the number of renewals. However, if another reader reserves the item, it cannot be renewed. Borrowed books should be returned on time, and any overdue, lost, or damaged items will be handled according to the regulations of each library.
IV. Readers can apply for reservations through the "UST Library Catalog and Interlibrary Loan" service. Once the lending library approves the application, the book will be sent to the pick-up library, and the reader will be notified to pick up the book within the reservation period. Returning books must be done through in-person application for interlibrary loan at the respective libraries. Renewal of books should be processed online. If there are any special regulations at individual libraries, they should be followed accordingly.
V. If a reader violates any regulations at any of the four libraries, the matter will be handled according to the regulations of each library. In cases of serious offenses, upon notification of the reader's home library, the reader's library privileges at the four libraries may be suspended.
VI. Before readers handle departure or resignation procedures, they must settle any outstanding loans and overdue fines owed to UST.
VII. The directions are implemented after being approved by the libraries of UST, and any revisions will follow the same process.
